DeStroked 6.4 Engine Mounts

08-10 6.4 -12v/24v/CR MOTOR MOUNTS 

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

THE DRIVE TRAIN WILL MOVE BACK APPROXIMATELY 3’’

 

NOTE:

IF YOUR FORD HAS THE V10 OR 5.4 GASSER, YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE FROM FORD THE LOWER ENGINE CROSSMEMBER 6.4DSL MOTOR MOUNTS. 

We recommend installing the engine first then attaching the transmission.   This will dictate the exact location of the crossmembers’ new position.  Is most cases the rear factory bolt holes will become the new front crossmember bolt holes; now simply drill new rear mount holes.

 

  • START WITH INSTALLING THE PASSENGER SIDE MOTOR MOUNTS. THE PASSENGER SIDE MOTOR MOUNT WILL HAVE THE SLOTTED HOLES IN THE TABS STICKING OUT FROM THE MOUNTING PLATE SHOWN BELOW

BOLT THE MOTOR MOUNT TO THE ENGINE USING THE SUPPLIED BOLTS IN THE KIT.

 

INSTALL THE DRIVER SIDE MOTOR MOUNT. IT SHOULD LOOK A LOT LIKE THE PASSENGER SIDE

SHOWN ABOVE.

BOLT THE MOTOR MOUNT TO THE ENGINE USING TE SUPPLIED BOLTS.

 

 

AT THIS POINT IF THE ENGINE IS READY TO INSTALL AN ALL ACCESORIES ARE ON BOLTED ON, THE MOTOR IS READY TO BE INSTALLED IN THE ENGINE BAY. WORK THE ENGINE INTO PLACE ABOVE THE MOTOR MOUNTS. SLIDE THE MOTOR MOUNT OVER THE TOP OF THE FORD FACTORY 6.4 LOWER CROSSMEMBER MOTOR MOUNTS AND INSTALL THE BIG BOLTS THAT WILL CONNECT THE UPPER AND LOWER MOTOR MOUNTS TOGETHER. THE ENGINE WILL NOW BE OK TO FREELY SIT IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE SLOTTED HOLES ON THE PASSENGER SIDE MOTOR MOUNT IS FOR LATERAL ADJUSTMENTS NEEDED TO LEVEL THE MOTOR. ONCE THE ENGINE IS LEVEL LATERALLY, TIGHTEN THE BOLTS PASSENGER SIDE FIRST AND THEN DRIVER SIDE LAST.
