During this process, make sure you do not choose “Get stock file” While the 22-24 ECM is in the truck.
1. Request a 22-24 Recovery for the truck’s VIN # and correct year. Be sure VIN number sent matches the 22-24 truck you are working on. For the recovery file we also need to know which year it is, the trans type, and if it is a pickup model or a cab and chassis model.
2. Connect the device to the 22-24 OEM ECM and read the Immobilizer by going to the Service Codes inside the settings menu and entering 4666. After doing this turn the key off and do not turn the key back on until after the ECM has been swapped. Also make sure that you do not “Get stock file” while connected to the 22-24 ECM.
3. Swap the 22-24 ECM with a 2019-2021 one.
4. Load the 22-24 Recovery file with the correct VIN # into that ECM.
5. Tune the 2019-2021 ECM your custom tunes.
6. If the ECM you are using is used the above steps should be all you need. But if the ECM you are using is brand new. When you go to program the recovery file it might give you an error. That error should be “14101 / R 0D 1A 02 FF FF FF FF FF”. If you get this error go back into the service code menu and enter code 6625. When you do that it should say “ECM’s BL data read”. After that go back and try to load the recovery file again.
